President; GATO, INC., July 1989 present
Owner and president of custom camera placement and movement solutions company. Specializing in the design, manufacture, operation and sales of camera movement and placement devices including crane systems, Steadicams and static mounts as well as robotic motion control system incorporating a motorized/encoded Worral gearhead, encoded Stanton Jimmy Jib Crane on motorized dolly, and custom fabricated rigs. This system is used for both on location and studio filming, EFX creation (i.e. virtual sets, motion path recovery, etc.), product shoots and broadcast production.
NON-LINEAR EDITOR AND COMPUTER GRAPHICS ANIMATOR, November 1998 present
Owner/operator of 2 portable Final Cut Pro editing systems. System can be used to proof composites, effects, composition, and continuity on set. Responsible for the creation, design and editing of custom graphics, animations and video for various Fortune 500 corporate clients.
STEADICAM OWNER/OPERATOR, January 1991 present
Cinema Products Certified Steadicam Operator. Proficient in set up, operation and choreography of Steadicam photography. Extensive experience designing lighting specific to Steadicam photography and the design and construction of specialty Steadicam photography set-ups.
CAMERA CRANE OWNER/OPERATOR/DESIGNER, October 1990 present
Designed, manufactured and operated the "Gatocrane", a custom, expandable, nine to forty-five foot long camera crane system capable of elevating the camera lens up from minus fifteen to thirty feet above the ground line.
Gato inc's crane operation can be seen in National Commercials, Theatrical Features, and Network broadcast programs.
Additional working models of this crane are currently installed and employed in production in Comcast Cable's Avenel, NJ studio and at Compression Films in Philadelphia, PA.
